Con el anuncio de BECCA COSMETICS de su próximo cierre en septiembre de este año, tenía que encontrar un reemplazo para uno de mis iluminadores favoritos, BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder. La paleta MAC Hyper Real Glow me pareció una buena opción, ya que el producto en sí se parece mucho al iluminador de BECCA y además incluye tres tonos diferentes al precio de 45€ (el famoso iluminador de BECCA cuesta 43,99€ por un solo tono).
With BECCA COSMETICS announcement of going out of business in September this year, I had to find a replacement to one of my favorite highlighters, BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Powder. MAC Hyper Real Glow palette seemed a good option, as the product feels very much like BECCA‘s and it includes three different shades at the price of 45€ (BECCA‘s famous highligther costs 43,99€ for just one shade).
Los tonos
La paleta MAC Hyper Real Glow está disponible en tres tonos diferentes:
- Shimmy Peach (tonos melocotón)
- Flash + Awe (tonos rosados)
- Get It Glowin’ (tonos dorados)
En particular, elegí la paleta MAC Hyper Real Glow en el tono Get It Glowin’, ya que los tonos dorados favorecen más a mi tono de piel y quedan mejor con el color de mi pelo. La paleta incluye tres tonos de iluminador diferentes:
- Gold Coasting (tonalidad champán con suave brillo dorado)
- Get It Glowin’ (tonalidad melocotón con suave brillo dorado)
- Rosy Cheer (tonalidad bronce con suave brillo dorado)
Estos tres tonos cálidos dorados crean un bronceado luminoso instantáneo como si estuvieras de vuelta de tus vacaciones y son perfectos si quieres dar un toque fresco y juvenil a tu maquillaje.
The shades
MAC Hyper Real Glow palette is available in three diferent shades:
- Shimmy Peach (peach hues)
- Flash + Awe (rose gold hues)
- Get It Glowin’ (gold hues)
I particularly went for MAC Hyper Real Glow palette in Get It Glowin’ shade, as golden hues complement better my skin tone and hair color. The palette features three different highligther shades:
- Gold Coasting (champagne gold with gold shimmer)
- Get It Glowin’ (fleshy peach with fine gold shimmer)
- Rosy Cheer (rich golden bronze with fine gold shimmer)
These three warm golden shades create an instant post-vacation glow and are perfect to give a fresh and dewy touch to your makeup looks.
Textura y efecto
La fórmula de estos iluminadores es excelente. Los polvos de textura cremosa se funden en la piel suavemente sin desprenderse y con una duración realmente impresionante. Los tonos se pueden usar individualmente o combinados, ya que se mezclan y funden maravillosamente. Me encanta el hecho de que se pueden utilizar no sólo como iluminadores sino también como sombras de ojos. Estos iluminadores cremosos proporcionan un brillo efectivo sin cuartearse ni dejar marcas indeseadas para una luminosidad suave e iridiscente con un toque perlado muy favorecedor. El efecto glow es realmente visible pero sin ser arrollador. No contienen purpurina gruesa, sino polvos muy finos que hacen que la piel brille de un modo más natural. La pigmentación es realmente sorprendente, solo una pasada imparte un brillo intenso, cremoso y nacarado. Para conseguir un acabado impecable y de aspecto mucho más natural, recomiendo aplicar con brocha en lugar de utilizar los dedos.
Texture and effect
The formula of these highlighters is excellent. The creamy powder melts onto skin really smoothy with a superior adhesion and a really impressive long lasting power. Shades can be worn separately or 1layered together, as they blend and build effortlessly. I love the fact they can be used not only as highlighters but also as eyeshadows. These cream-like powder highlighters give a next-level highlight with no streaking or caking for a gorgeous, iridiscent glow with a very flattering opalescent shine. The illuminating effect is truly visible but not overwhelming. There´s no chunky flecks of glitter but finely milled powders that make your skin gleam rather than sparkle. The pigmentation is truly unparalleled, just one swipe imparts a rich, creamy, lacquered glow. To get a much natural-looking and flawless result, I recommend applying with brush rather than using your fingers.
El envase
Me encanta el envase de la paleta MAC Hyper Real Glow. No sólo la caja es increíblemente glamurosa, en negro con escritura dorada en relieve, sino que además los tonos vienen por separado. No soy muy partidaria de las paletas en las que diferentes tonos están juntos en un bloque único. Ligera, compacta y con espejo interior, es la paleta iluminadora perfecta para llevar a cualquier parte.
The packaging
I absolutely love the packaging of MAC Hyper Real Glow palette. Not only the black box is absolutely glamorous -in black with embossed golden writing- but also the shades are kept separately. I’m not too keen on palettes featuring different shades in one single block. Light, compact and with an inside mirror, it makes for the perfect highlighter palette to take anywhere.

I’ve been so close to buying a Hyper Real palette! The creamy texture is fab, but I’m scared it’ll dry out in the pan. How long have you had yours?
