Cada año hay nuevos cosméticos que tenemos la tentación de probar y, afortunadamente, existen muestras antes de comprometernos con un nuevo producto. Siempre tenemos la esperanza de que nuestra piel se vea más joven, uniforme y radiante en el momento de comprar un nuevo cosmético. Muchas veces, nos entusiasmamos con un producto las primeras semanas que empezamos a usarlo, para darnos cuenta más tarde de que, a la larga, los resultados no son los esperados. Por esta razón, he seleccionado tres cosméticos para el cuidado de la piel que he probado este año y he visto resultados visibles desde el momento en que los apliqué en mi piel, y semanas después, mi piel ha seguido mejorando.

Siempre existe la esperanza de que nuestra piel se vea más joven, uniforme y radiante en el momento de comprar un nuevo cuidado de la piel. Every year there is new skincare that we get tempted to try and thankfully there is samples, before we commit to a new product. There is always some hope that our skin will look younger, even and radiant in the moment of buying new skincare. So many times, we get hyped in a product in the first weeks we start using it, to realise later that in the long run, the results are not expected as we thought in the beginning. For this reason, I selected three skincare products that I have tried this year and I have seen a difference from the moment I applied them on my skin as weeks later, my skin was still improving.

KIEHL’S Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate
Es muy difícil encontrar un cosmético que realmente tenga efecto en las arrugas profundas extremas y líneas de expresión. He pasado por tantas marcas, incluso LA MER o LA PRAIRIE, para encontrar el “elixir” de la juventud, pero siempre tengo la impresión de que actúan superficialmente en la piel, no reponiendo eficazmente a la pérdida diaria de elasticidad. Los pocos productos que encontré hasta ahora que funcionan bien para disminuir las arrugas y tensar la piel se agotan o se descontinúan. Así que cuando descubrí KIEHL´S Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate, supe que había encontrado mi “elixir de juventud”. Este concentrado tiene un 12,5% de vitamina C y ácido hialurónico y reduce visiblemente las arrugas y líneas de expresión. Se puede usar localmente en las zonas donde las arrugas son más visibles, antes de la crema hidratante, y verás instantáneamente cómo tu piel se ilumina sin verse grasa ni notarse pesada en la piel, como ocurre con algunos tratamientos anti-edad.
It is so hard to find a product that really targets extreme deep wrinkles and expression lines. I have gone through so many brands, even LA MER or LA PRAIRIE, to find the “Holy Grail” of youth, but I always get the impression they work superficially on the skin, not replenishing effectively the daily loss of elasticity. The few products I found so far that work perfectly to stretch wrinkles and tighten up skin get either sold out or discontinued. So when I found KIEHL’S Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate, I knew I had found my “Holy Grail”. This concentrate has 12.5% of vitamin c and hyaluronic acid and reduces visibly wrinkles and expression lines. It can be used locally on the areas where the wrinkles are more visible, before moisturizer, and you will see instantly how your skin gets glowy without looking oily or feeling heavy on the skin, as it happens with some anti-age skincare.

BOSSY GLOSSY The One Night Moisturiser es una crema de noche anti-edad que me ha sorprendido muy positivamente. Esta marca inglesa utiliza únicamente ingredientes naturales y el resultado es una crema facial que revive la mejor versión de tu piel. Los ingredientes aceite de onagra, albaricoque y coco con provitamina B5 añadida, son la fórmula perfecta para regenerar la piel mientras duermes. Esta crema hidratante da una luminosidad tan saludable a la piel que, a veces, cuando quiero llevar mi rostro sin maquillaje, me aplico esta crema y me siento lo suficientemente segura como para ir por la calle sin base ni corrector.

This English brand uses only natural ingredients, and the result is a face cream that revives the best version of your skin. The ingredients primrose, apricot and coconut oil with added pro-vitamin B5 are the perfect formula to regenerate skin whilst sleeping. This moisturizer gives such a healthy radiance to the skin that sometimes when I want my face to be makeup-free, I apply this cream and I feel confident enough to be outdoors without any foundation or concealer.
DR. JART+ Ceramidin Eye Cream
La textura de esta crema de ojos es sorprendente, consistente pero de rápida absorción. La mezcla de cinco ceramidas, que es el distintivo de la gama DR. JART + Ceramidin ayuda a que el párpado inferior retenga la hidratación para evitar que los ojos se vean deshidratados y cansados. La razón por la que me gusta tanto esta crema de ojos es porque mis ojos se notan hidratados todo el día y funciona muy bien como base para el corrector. Otra ventaja de esta crema de ojos hidratante es el hecho de que contiene 20 ml, en lugar de los 15 ml habituales. Lo he estado usando día y noche desde principios de agosto y todavía queda mucho para que se acabe.
The texture of this eye cream is amazing, thick but quickly absorbable. The blend of five ceramides, which is the trade mark of DR. JART+ Ceramidin range, helps the under eye are to lock moisture in to prevent eyes to look dry and tired. The reason I liked this eye cream so much is because my eyes feel hydrated the whole day and works well as a makeup base for under-eye concealer. Another advantage of this moisturizer is the fact that it’s a package of 20 ml, instead of the regular 15ml. I have been using it day and night since beginning of August and it’s far from being finished.

To complete my five favorite beauty products for 2021, I have two haircare products that are helping my hair to grow healthier and stronger. These two products are:
- MIRANA Hair Tonic
- KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse
MIRANA Hair Tonic
MIRANA Hair Tonic es un producto para el cabello multifunción que se puede utilizar como tónico o serum después del peinado. Con once aceites naturales como la menta, el coco, las almendras dulces o el aceite de romero, MIRANA Hair Tonic es perfecto para el cabello dañado y el cuero cabelludo sensible. Me gusta usarlo de dos maneras: tratamiento nocturno o después de usar planchas o tenacillas. Como tratamiento nocturno, la mejor forma es aplicarlo sobre el cuero cabelludo y las puntas abiertas y envolver el cabello mientras duermes. Los aceites naturales penetrarán profundamente para reforzar y reconstruir el cabello dañado. Al día siguiente, cuando te despiertes lávate el cabello y notarás tu pelo suave y restaurado. Como serum después del peinado, calienta una pequeña cantidad en las manos y aplícala en las puntas u otras partes que puedan necesitar hidratación. No apliques de más. Unas pocas gotas son suficientes. Desde que he comenzado a usar este tónico capilar, he notado que mi pelo ha crecido más rápido de lo habitual.
MIRANA Hair Tonic is a hair multitask product that can be used as a tonic or serum after styling. Packed with eleven natural oils such as peppermint, coconut, sweet almond or rosemary oil, MIRANA Hair Tonic is perfect for damaged hair and sensitive scalp. I like to use it in two ways: overnight treatment or after using straighteners or iron curling tongs. As an overnight treatment, the best way is to apply on the scalp and split ends and wrap the hair whilst sleeping. The natural oils will penetrate deeply to reinforce and rebuilt damaged hair. On the following day, when you wake up wash hair and afterwards you will feel your hair smooth and recovered. As a serum after styling hair, warm up a small portion on the hands and rub it on ends or other parts that might need more hydration. Don’t overapply it. A few drops go a long way. Since I started using this hair tonic, I noticed that my hair has been growing quicker than usual.
KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse
El paso de mi pelo “liso de peluquería” a mis rizos naturales ha sido un proceso difícil. Después de veinte años de alisarme el cabello sin parar, decidí que ya había tenido suficiente, era hora de apreciar mis rizos naturales. Un producto que ha sido fundamental en este proceso es KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse. Mientras peino mis rizos, también los nutro para que recuperen su volumen y densidad natural. Este mousse está lleno de ceramidas, ácido hialurónico y gluco péptidos para fortalecer el cabello. Si tu cabello es fino como el mío, KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse te ayudará a reestructurar tu cabello para un pelo más grueso, elástico y con cuerpo. Normalmente uso un máximo de tres pulsaciones del tamaño de una naranja, la distribuyo por todo el cabello cuando está húmedo y lo dejo secar de forma natural, pero si quieres peinarlo después, puedes hacerlo también.
I have been trying to transition my hair from “salon straight” to my natural curls and it has been a hard process. After twenty years of straightening my hair non-stop, I decided that it was enough, it was time to embrace my natural curls. One product that has been essential in this process is the KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse. Whilst I’m styling my curls, I’m also nourishing them, so they can recover their natural volume and density. The mousse is infused with ceramides, hyaluronic acid and gluco peptides to strengthen hair. If your hair is thin like mine, KÉRASTASE Densifique Mousse will help to restructure your hair into a thicker, bouncy and full of body version. I normally use maximum three orange sized amount of mousse, distribute throughout my hair when is damp and I leave it to dry naturally, but if you want to style it after, you can do it as well.

In my case, I divided my five favorite beauty products in the same two categories, skincare and haircare, but I chose four skincare products and only one haircare product as 2021 has been my “crazy for skincare year”.

Este 2021 he estado cuidando mi piel como nunca antes. Dedicar tiempo a mi piel se ha convertido en una prioridad y como resultado noto está mejor ahora que hace años. He aprendido cómo combatir todas los problemas de mi piel con los principios activos adecuados para el cuidado de la piel y, en el proceso, puedo decir honestamente que nunca había probado tantos cosméticos diferentes en un solo año. Entre ellos, estos son los que se han convertido en imprescindibles en mi rutina de cuidado facial y que compro una y otra vez:

This 2021 I’ve been looking after my skin like never before. Self-care has become a priority and my skin is feeling and looking better than it did years ago. I learnt how to target all my skin concerns with the right skincare ingredients and in the process, I can honestly say I never tried so many different skincare products in just one year. Among them all, these are the ones that have become must-haves in my skincare routine and I keep buying on repeat:

DR. HAUSCHKA Soothing Cleansing Milk
Al tener la piel seca y sensible, siempre estoy buscando limpiadores faciales que no sólo limpien eficazmente, sino que también sean suaves con mi piel. No puedo utilizar limpiadores que dejan la piel tirante o arrastran los aceites naturales, de lo contrario mi piel se irrita y enrojece. Cuando probé por primera vez la leche limpiadora DR. HAUSCHKA Soothing Cleansing Milk inmediatamente noté que era el limpiador perfecto para mi tipo de piel. Me encanta porque elimina el maquillaje y las impurezas de manera eficaz, pero manteniendo la piel hidratada. Además es tan suave con la piel que la deja calmada, tersa y nutrida. Este limpiador facial está hecho con ingredientes naturales sin tóxicos, lo que es una verdadera ventaja porque noto que mi piel está naturalmente limpia sin químicos agresivos ni ingredientes artificiales. Realmente recomiendo este limpiador para quienes tengan la piel sensible o reactiva.
Having dry and sensitive skin, I’m always on the look out for cleansers that not only cleanse effectively but are also gentle with my skin. I can’t use cleansers that leave a tight feeling in my skin and strip its natural oils, otherwise it gets all red and reactive. When I first tried DR. HAUSCHKA Soothing Cleansing Milk I felt straight away this was the perfect cleanser for my skin type. I love it because it removes makeup and impurities effectively while still nourishing the skin plus it’s so gentle it leaves my skin soothed, smooth and nourished. This cleanser is made with natural, non-toxic ingredients which is also a real bonus, as I can feel my skin naturally cleansed with no harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients. I really recommend this cleanser for those with sensitive or reactive skin types.
PIXI Glow Tonic
Con tantas reseñas increíbles, tenía que probar este tónico de PIXI. Mi piel seca tiende a verse con aspecto apagado, especialmente en invierno, y cualquier cosmético que ilumine la piel siempre es bienvenido a mi rutina de belleza. PIXI Glow Tonic contiene un 5% de ácido glicólico que elimina las células muertas y revela una piel radiante. Ya tengo un tónico con ácido glicólico de THE ORDINARY, que es uno de mis productos favoritos de la marca y también uno de mis cosméticos imprescindibles, pero PIXI Glow Tonic va más allá. Con aloe que calma e hidrata, gingseng que ilumina y promueve una piel de aspecto saludable y avellana que reafirma y tonifica, este fabuloso tónico ha disminuido gradualmente las manchas causadas por daño solar e imperfecciones y es tan increíblemente suave y calmante que puedo usarlo todos los días.
With so many rave amazing reviews, I had to try this toner from PIXI. My dry skin tends to look dull, specially in winter, and any glow-giving skincare product is always welcome in my beauty routine. PIXI Glow Tonic contains 5% glycolic acid that removes dead skin cells and reveals radiant skin. I already have a glycolic acid toner from THE ORDINARY, which is one of my favorite products from the brand and also one of my skincare must-haves, but PIXI Glow Tonic goes the extra mile. With aloe that soothes and moisturises, gingseng that brightens and promotes healthy-looking skin and hazel that firms and tones, this wonder toner has gradually diminished signs of sun damage and imperfections and is so amazingly gentle and soothing I can use it everyday.
TATA HARPER Water-Lock Moisturizer
Solo tengo buenas palabras sobre TATA HARPER Water-Lock Moisturizer. Esta crema se ha convertido en mi hidratante de referencia desde el primer día que la probé. TATA HARPER Water-Lock Moisturizer funciona de maravilla las cuatro estaciones del año y ha simplificado mi rutina de cuidado facial de la manera más inteligente. Esta crema ligera se puede llevar sola para una piel luminosa y de aspecto saludable, y debajo del maquillaje, ya que también funciona como primer. Su textura es muy hidratante pero nunca se nota densa en la piel. Promueve un cutis más suave y uniforme con el uso regular y ayuda a mantener la piel elástica. I can’t rave enough about TATA HARPER Water-Lock Moisturizer. This moisturiser has become my go-to moisturiser since the first day I tried it. TATA HARPER Water-Lock Moisturizer works phenomenally for all four seasons and it has simplified my skincare routine in the most intelligent manner. This lighweight moisturiser can be worn on its own for glowy, healthy-looking skin, or under makeup, as it works as a primer too. The texture feels so hydrating but never dense on my skin. It promotes a smoother, more even-toned complexion with regular use and it helps to keep skin elastic. I really recommend it for tired, stressed and sensitized skin. THE INKEY LIST Retinol
THE INKEY LIST Retinol es el producto de tratamiento que he estado usando de manera más regular durante todo el año 2021 y no es por casualidad. Solo tengo buenas palabras sobre este serum de retinol. Lo he estado usando en mi rutina de noche todos los días -este debe ser el cuarto tubo que uso- y me encanta. Este serum transformador promete resultados visibles en cuatro semanas de uso, pero honestamente, yo noté resultados después de solo una semana. Funciona y realmente ofrece resultados visibles. Me encanta lo bien que le ha ido a mi piel. Teniendo en cuenta que tiene un 1% de retinol en su fórmula, no es irritante en absoluto. La textura de mi piel ha mejorado mucho, está más suave y tersa que nunca, y mi tono de piel está más unificado. También he notado que mi piel está más tersa y firme. Tengo muchos productos de tratamiento, pero de alguna manera siempre acabo eligiendo este. Creo que la razón de esto no es solo su eficacia, su textura también juega un papel importante. THE INKEY LIST Retinol tiene la mejor de las texturas: ligera, fresca, de rápida absorción y agradablemente perfumada. Realmente recomiendo este serum de retinol a quienes quieran incorporar este ingrediente activo a su rutina de cuidado de la piel por primera vez porque no sólo es un producto low-cost, sino que también es muy suave con la piel y proporciona resultados visibles a las pocas semanas de uso.
THE INKEY LIST Retinol is the treatment skincare product I’ve been using more consistently during the whole of 2021 and that’s for a reason. There’s only good things I can say about this retinol serum. I’ve been using it in my evening routine daily -this must be the 4th tube I´m using- and I absolutely love it. This transformative serum promises visible results in four weeks of use—but honestly, I noticed results after just one week. It works and it truly delivers visible results. I love how well works for my skin. Considering it has a 1% of retinol in its formula, it’s not irritating at all. My skin texture has really improved, is the softest and smoothest I can ever remember and skin tone is more unified. I also noticed my skin is more plumped and firm. I own many treatment skincare products but by default I always end up choosing this one. I think the reason for this is not only performance, texture plays a big part as well. THE INKEY LIST Retinol has the nicest of textures: lightweight, fresh and fast-absorbing and nicely scented. I really recommend this retinol serum to those who want to introduce this ingredient to their skincare routine for the first time because not only is very affordable but also very gentle with skin and provides visible results within few weeks of use.

To complete my favorite five beauty products for 2021, I chose a shampoo that performs like no other.
OLAPLEX Nº4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo
Después de haber probado todo tipo de champús, desde marcas de supermercado hasta marcas de alta gama para reparar mi cabello permanentemente seco y frágil, puedo decir que 2021 ha sido el año en el que he encontrdo el mejor champú para mi tipo de cabello. OLAPLEX Nº4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo hace la espuma perfecta – con una pequeña cantidad es suficiente-, después del aclarado puedo notar mi cabello suave e hidratado, además de que no apelmaza en absoluto. En realidad, es tan nutritivo y reparador que puedo omitir el acondicionador o la mascarilla cuando voy con prisas. Mi cabello está más sano, sedoso y suave desde que lo uso con regularidad. En mi opinión, es uno de los mejores champús para cabello dañado disponibles en el mercado actualmente y realmente lo recomiendo para cabello muy seco, frágil, quebradizo o dañado.
After having tried all sort of shampoos from drugstore to high-end brands to mend my permanently dry and fragile hair, I can say 2021 has been the year I found the best shampoo for my hair type. OLAPLEX Nº4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo lathers wonderfully -a tiny bit goes a long way-, after rinsing I can feel my hair soft and hydrated plus it doesnt weigh my hair down at all. It is actually so nourishing and repairing I can skip conditioner or hair mask when I’m rushing. My hair feels healthier, silkier and softer since using it regularly. In my opinion, this is one of the best shampoos for damaged hair available in the market these days and I really recommend it for very dry, fragile, brittle or damaged hair.
