Después de dos años trabajando desde casa y poniendo todo el énfasis en cuidar la piel, ha dado como resultado el resurgimiento del look de aspecto natural. Si bien Instagram está lleno de looks de maquillaje súper elaborados, lo cierto es que en el mundo real el efecto cada lavada es lo que realmente se lleva. Pero cómo se consigue este efecto buena cara sin que se note que vas maquillada?

After two years of working from home and putting all emphasis in skincare, there’s been a shift towards the no-makeup look. Whilst on Instagram the full face of makeup seems to be the dominating trend, in the real world the off-dutty makeup look is really taking over. But how can you get the no-makeup makeup look effortlessly?

Cómo se consigue un look de maquillaje realmente natural? What makes a really great natural makeup look?

Me encanta el maquillaje discreto, natural y de efecto buena cara. Pero créeme, el look de maquillaje natural no es fácil de recrear. La idea es parecer que no llevas maquillaje, cuando en realidad lo llevas para conseguir buena cara. Sigue leyendo para descubrir los trucos que he aprendido de los expertos y queutilizo para conseguir el look de maquillaje natural definitivo.

I love understated, natural and healthy-looking makeup. But believe me, the sort of natural-looking, no-makeup makeup aesthetic is not easy to pull off. The whole idea is to look like you are not wearing any makeup -you shouldn´t be able to tell where the makeup is at all, when you actually wear it to look yourself only better. Keep reading to discover the tricks I learnt from the experts to achieve the ultimate no-makeup makeup look.

Preparar la piel con cosméticos

Prep skin with skincare

Preparar la piel con cosméticos es el paso más importante si quieres conseguir un maquillaje natural de efecto buena cara. Si la piel está cuidada y en condiciones óptimas, vas a necesitar menos maquillaje para cubrir imperfecciones y el resultado será mucho más natural. Además, el maquillaje se aplica mucho mejor si la piel está limpia, suave e hidratada. Aplicar serum y crema sobre la piel limpia antes del maquillaje proporciona una base en la que se funde el maquillaje, evitando que se formen parches indeseados y consiguiendo que el maquillaje se mantenga impecable por más tiempo.  

Prepping skin with skincare is actually the most essential step if you want to achieve a no-makeup makeup look. If skin is in optimal condition, you´ll need less makeup to cover imperfections and the result will look much more natural. Additionally, makeup products go on so much better if skin is clean, soft and hydrated. Applying serum and cream on clean skin before doing your makeup provides a creamy base for makeup to melt onto skin, avoiding undesired and unnatural patches.

Me gusta dejar mi piel limpia, hidratada y perfectamente preparada para el maquillaje con esta mini rutina:

• Limpio mi piel primero con JUNO SKIN 10 Clean Cleansing Balm, un limpiador de base aceite que elimina suciedad e impurezas, seguido por JUNO SKIN Clarifying Cleansing Powder que perfecciona la limpieza facial exfoliando, suavizando e hidratando la piel.
• Trato la piel con un serum antiedad. Actualmente utilizo Nº1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Serum, que no sólo hidrata la piel si no que además ayuda a combatir los primeros signos de envejecimiento.
• Preparo la piel para el maquillaje con Nº1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Cream, que a parte de hidratar y revitalizar la piel, da buena cara al instante y además funciona de maravilla como primer debajo del maquillaje.

I like to leave my skin perfectly cleansed, hydrated and prepped for makeup with this mini skincare routine:

• I double cleanse using JUNO SKIN 10 Clean Cleansing Balm, an oil based cleanser which removes dirt and impurities, followed by JUNO SKIN Clarifying Cleansing Powder, which perfects the cleansing routine exfoliating, smoothing and hydrating skin.
• I follow with a treatment serum to plump and deeply hydrate skin. These days I´m using Nº1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Serum, which not only hydrates but also combats the first signs of ageing.
• I prep skin with Nº1 DE CHANEL Revitalizing Cream, which hydrates and revitalizes skin, provides a youthful-looking complexion instantly and works wonders as a primer under makeup.

Mezclar la base de maquillaje con primer iluminador 

Mix foundation with an illuminating primer

Este truco permite conseguir una cobertura más ligera y de acabado más natural que aplicando la base de maquillaje sola. Da un acabado traslucido que deja ver la piel a la vez que la perfecciona e ilumina. En este sentido, mi truco para conseguir una piel de acabado súper natural en la que apenas se nota la base de maquillaje, es mezclar a partes iguales una base de maquillaje líquida de cobertura ligera y acabado mate o satinado con un primer líquido iluminador. Prefiero los primers líquidos iluminadores a los aceites faciales porque el resultado queda mucho más natural. Con aceite la piel queda demasiado brillante, porque una cosa es la luminosidad natural y la otra son los brillos no deseados, además el maquillaje mezclado con aceite facial no aguanta bien todo el día. Mi combinación ganadora es CHARLOTTE TILBURY Hollywood Flawless Filter + NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint.

This trick will allow you to go light on the coverage. An illuminating primer will add that ‘lit from-within’ glow. You will get a translucent finish in which you can still see your skin yet it perfects and illuminates your complexion to look yourself only better. In this sense, my trick to get a natural-looking complexion where foundation goes unnoticed is mixing equal parts of a light coverage matte or satin finish foundation with an illuminating primer. I favor liquid illuminating primer to face oils because the result is more natural-looking. Face oils leave skin looking overly shiny -one thing is glowing skin and another is undesired shine- plus face oils make foundation loose staying power.  My favorite combo is CHARLOTTE TILBURY Hollywood Flawless Filter + NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint.

Optar por fórmulas en crema 

Reach for cream formulas

No hay duda que las fórmulas en crema quedan mucho más naturales que los polvos. Dejan entrever la piel, se funden muy fácilmente y evitan el efecto mate, cubriente y poco natural de las fórmulas en polvo. En este sentido utilizar bronceadores y coloretes con fórmulas en crema permite conseguir un look de maquillaje natural mucho más fácilmente que si utilizas sus equivalentes en polvo.  El colorete en crema permite recrear el rubor natural de una forma muy sencilla. Yo lo aplico en las mejillas justo debajo de los pómulos difuminando bien los bordes para que el look quede lo más muy natural posible. Mi truco para un look de lo más natural es utilizar fórmulas sin partículas brillantes. Mi blush en crema favorito para este tipo de looks es FENTY BEAUTY Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush. Del mismo modo, aplico bronceador en crema en pómulos, sienes y párpados para dar dimensión al rostro de un modo sutil, consiguiendo un resultado muy natural. CHANEL Soleil Tan se funde en la piel, queda muy natural y aguanta durante horas.

There’s no denying cream formulas look more natural than powders. They let your own skin shine through, blend effortlessly and avoid the unnatural matte, cakey, full coverage effect of powdery formulas.  In this sense, using cream bronzers and blushes will allow you to get the no-makeup makeup look much effortlessly than using their powder counterparts. Using cream blush will help you to fake a natural flush and get the look the easy way. I apply it on the apples of my cheeks up onto the temples, making sure to blend the edges for a seamless look. My trick to get an even more natural look is to use formulas with no shimmer. My favorite cream blush to achieve a no-makeup makeup look is FENTY BEAUTY Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush.  Likewise, I love applying cream bronzer on cheekbones, temples and eyelids to create subtle dimension yet getting natural-looking result. CHANEL Soleil Tan blends wonderfully, looks very natural and it’s really long lasting.

Llevar las cejas naturales 

Go for the natural brow look

Llevar las cejas lo más naturales posible y evitar llevarlas maquilladas en exceso es esencial para mantener un look de maquillaje natural, por lo que las cejas naturales no sólo es aceptable si no también de lo más acertado. Existe una gran diferencia entre llevar unas cejas arregladas camuflando las zonas despobladas a unas cejas muy pintadas que incluso cambian su forma natural. Para conseguir un look de cejas súper natural, sólo aplico gel fijador transparente no pegajoso como NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel y utilizo HOURGLASS Brow Arch Sculpting Pencil si tengo que cubrir alguna pequeña zona despoblada.

Going the most natural with brows and avoiding any heavy eyebrow makeup look is essential to keep your makeup look natural, so natural brows are not only accepted but also encouraged. There’s a big difference between grooming brows filling any gaps to covering them in heavy eyebrow makeup and totally changing it´s natural shape. To get the most natural eyebrow look, I only apply a non-tacky clear fixing gel like NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel to keep my eyebrows in place and use HOURGLASS Brow Arch Sculpting Pencil in case I need to fill in any gaps.

Utilizar bálsamo labial en lugar de pintalabios

Swap lipsticks for lip balms

Los bálsamos y aceites labiales con color dan un toque de color y brillo a los labios sin que te veas muy arreglada, manteniendo el look realmente natural. Con propiedades nutritivas y pigmento muy ligero, se obtiene tratamiento y color en una sola pasada para unos labios bonitos y naturales. Mi bálsamo labial favorito es NARS After Glow Lip Balm. Los labios se ven tan naturales que no parece que lleves nada, pero se notan hidratados y se ven cuidados con un delicado brillo rosado. Cuando busco un acabado más jugoso, utilizo KOSAS Wet Lip Oil, el mejor aceite labial que he probado hasta la fecha por formulación, color y brillo naturales.

Colored lip balms and lip oils add a bit of color and shine to your lips without looking too done, keeping the look extremely natural. With nourishing properties and very light in pigment, you get treatment and natural color in just one swipe so your lips look like your lips but only better. My favorite lip balm is NARS After Glow Lip Balm.  Lips look so natural you won’t notice there’s any makeup on them yet they feel and look plumped, nourished and with a beautiful rosy glow. When I’m after a juicier finish, I go for KOSAS Wet Lip Oil, the best lip oil I tried so far in terms of natural formulation, color and shine.
